Fubo increases plan prices and RSN fee in US
Live TV streaming service Fubo is raising subscription prices for its US English-based plans. Citing programming costs, the company is rolling out the changes effective immediately for new customers, while existing subscribers will see the new costs in their next billing cycle on or before February 10. The price increase comes weeks after that Fubo and Disney have announced plans to merge their live TV business – which includes Hulu’s live TV offering – and Fubo’s intention to launch a new sports streaming package.
Before the increase, Fubo ranged from $80 to $90 per month, depending on the tier, with an additional fee for access to regional sports networks. Notably, its Essential and Pro plans are now $85 per month (up from $80 per month), making its basic plan higher than rivals YouTube TV and Hulu Plus Live TV, which cost $83.
According to Fubo, the RSN fee has also been increased by $1 for all customers, but it varies depending on where you live. For example, if you were paying $12 per month, your new rate will be $13 per month. The fee is added to the price of your subscription if your package includes sports.
Here’s a chart outlining Fubo’s monthly costs before and after the new price increase. Although the streamer no longer offers Deluxe or Premier packages for new customers, the rate for these levels has also increased.
Monthly price of Fubo
Old price | New rate for January 2025 | |
Substantial | $80 | $85 |
Professional | $80 | $85 |
Elite | $90 | $95 |
Fubo’s basic plan offers more than 200 channels and cloud DVR, but excludes RSN, while its Pro plan comes with more than 200 channels, unlimited DVR and RSN access. Last year, the service dropped the Warner Bros. networks. Discovery like TBS, TNT, HGTV and Food Network. The streamer offers a free trial and a discount for new customers who want to sign up now.
