Forgotten Horror series Buffy fans of vampire killers need to watch
“Buffy -Vampire” looks ready to rise from the graveSarah Michel Gellar was reportedly going to return as a iconic character. This is great news for anyone who grew up, watching the original series in the late 90s and early 2000s, but the revival is probably not yet coming for a while, which means that you should expect impatiently. However, what if we told you there is a strange show similar to “Buff” and flew under the radars while going out? This show exists, and it is called “the reaper”, and it deserves to be exhumated so that he finally receives the gratitude he deserves.
Created by Michel Pachas and Tara Baters – which fans Marvel will know for their work on “Carter agent -” Red “CW, began life as a specific scenario for an Episode “Buffy -Vampire”. However, after the inspiration of Edgar Wright “Sean of the dead”, the writers decided to create a draft stallion about a hob called Sam Oliver (Britta Harrison), whose parents sold their soul to the devil (Ray wise) when he was conceived. Thus, he starts playing with the war for the soul of our hero while he fights with literal hell.
“Rales” and “Buff” share many similarities, keeping their own signs that make them unique. With that in mind, let’s discuss why Bafi fans should check this forgotten gem.
Red
“Buffy -Vampire” boasts gallery of monsters -robberiesBut the series is the story of the trials and hardships of high school and early adulthood. “Red” also uses fantastic concepts as a prism to study existential anger, only heroes are aimless millennia who are trying to find their goal. When we meet Sam, he still lives at home, and he spends his days working in the equipment store, playing with his friends (Tyler Labin), Ben (Rick Gonzalez) and love interest, Andy (Miss Peregrim).
Of course, Sam’s life changes when the devil suddenly appears in his car in the middle of the drive and shows that he belongs to his soul. From that moment on, Sam is forced to gather the escape of the underground world and send them back through the portal on the ground, which is in the department of car vehicles and observed a capricious demon by the name of Gladis (Christine Wils). There is also a wide range of creatures, ranging from Blob monsters to dude with arms that Sam and his buddies should win using the unusual items that the devil, such as trucks, gave him.
Like Buffy before him, the reaper is also full of unconventional romances. Buffy Sammers crushes vampires, while the aforementioned Ben falls in love with a winged demon called Nina (Jenny Wade) after she tries to kill Sam. The peel, meanwhile, has half a sister, which may be more dubious than human/demon relationship. “Red” is more stupid than “Boff”, but it is clear that the iconic series of the 90s had a major influence. Unfortunately, it was canceled after two seasons, and the show ended on one almighty rock.
The reaper was canceled after two seasons
Without getting too much on the territory of the spoilers, the “reaper” ends when Sam almost does not go out with the consent with the devil, only for one of his allies will suddenly appear and make sure that the father lies with his soul. The ending created many interesting opportunities for the scheduled third season, but CW canceled the show in favor of switching most of its resources to a weekday, and the “reaper” was just stuck on Sunday night. The rest is a story.
At one point, there were plans to continue the story as a comic or cartoons, but these ideas have never come true. Tyler Labin and Bret Harrison revived their heroes in the episode “Kevin (Probably), saves the world”, another series-fantastic comedian, which was canceled shortly after it began. However, the reunion was an interesting way to give the heroes, even if it was not in the series that gave birth.
Anyway, See “Buffy -Vampire” and “Angel” Again, ahead of the return of the former show, but do not miss the “reaper”. This is an entertainment show that dangling in a wheelhouse, like those classics, though with greater humor and foolishness. The “reaper” may not get the revival it deserves, but more and more people who find it exists will become a victory by itself.
