Fans Drag Nicky Glazer for Cutting Luigi Mangione’s Joke Instead of Diddy’s

The fans called Nicky Glazer after the reports, it was revealed that she had ditched the Luigi Mangione joke, but kept one Sean “Diddy” Combs during her monologue at the Golden Globe Awards.

The stand-up comedian was previously called out by lawyers for the rapper’s accusers, who argued that jokes like hers were the reason victims kept quiet about being sexually assaulted.

Almost a day after the Golden Globes, the ceremony is still buzzing with host Nicki Glazer’s opening monologue.

The stand-up comedian joked about rapper Sean “Dee” Combs’ infamous hedonistic sex parties known as Freak Offs.

While the joke has already drawn criticism from many viewers and social media users, Glazer is now facing even more backlash after reports revealed she joked about the alleged killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Luigi Mangione while saving the joke for Diddy.

According to the report, the joke she deleted was a reference to actor Glenn Powell, who was nominated for an award at the ceremony.

On social media, fans wondered why Glazer felt it was insensitive to include a joke about Mangione while keeping the joke about Diddy, who is currently under investigation for sex trafficking, prostitution and racketeering.

Two users commented: “So it was too much, but Diddy was fair game?” and “She cut that, not that horrible Diddy joke?”

Some other netizens pointed out that Glazer should have swapped Mangione’s joke for Diddy’s.

One said: “She should have kept it and removed the Diddy joke,” while another remarked: “Much better than her Diddy joke, should have kept this one instead.”

Another user suggested that keeping the joke alive was a deliberate act involving people other than Glazer.

A user remarked: “They greenlit Diddy’s joke but crossed out this one ??? Yes, ‘they’, because she obviously doesn’t have the final say in what jokes she can and can’t say on national television… and that tells us a lot about Gulliver—I mean the tree.”

Glazer has previously been criticized by an attorney representing Diddy’s alleged victim, who filed a civil suit against the rapper last year.

According to TMZ, VolAttorney Arielle Mitchell said she was baffled as to why Glazer made such a joke, given that she is a woman who could also have been sexually assaulted.

She noted that such jokes undermine the confidence of women who should feel able to talk about violence.

“The spotlight on this ugly situation is exactly why so many victims of sexual assault never come forward or report the abuse,” said the attorney representing Ashley Parham, the woman who accuses Didi of violent gang rape.

Tyrone Blackburn, another attorney representing several of Diddy’s accusers, expressed frustration with Glazer.

Blackburn told the news agency that he expected the comedian to be able to “find humor that doesn’t focus on drugs and rape.”

The attorney is representing Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who claimed Diddy sexually assaulted him while they were working on his 2023 album.

Since his arrest on September 16 last year, Didi has been hit with a flurry of sexual assault lawsuits from several individuals. However, the rapper denied all the accusations.

During his monologue, Glazer joked about Diddy’s freak while praising actress Zendaya for her role in The Challengers.

“Zendaya here – Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune. Oh my God, I woke up for everyone. And Challengers, girl? Oh my God, that was so good,” Glazer began.

“That movie was sexier than Diddy’s credit card,” Glazer continued, “I’m sorry, I’m upset too. The party won’t be as good this year. But we have to move on – the ‘Stanley Tucci freak-off’ doesn’t have that ring to it – no baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”

Amid the drama surrounding the joke, Glazer has yet to comment on the backlash, seemingly hoping it will die down over time.
