Fanatics, LA sports teams partner to donate funds from new #LAStrong apparel in response to wildfires

Fanatics announced Friday that it is partnering with 15 Los Angeles-based sports teams and professional leagues to launch #LAStrong merchandise as wildfires are burning the area.
Fires have about 30,000 acres of land were burned and destroyed more than 10,000 buildings, leaving many homeless.
At least 10 people died.
Teams included in the merchandise include the Dodgers and Angels, Chargers and Rams, Lakers and Clippers and Kings and Ducks, as well as two MLS teams, the Galaxy and LAFC, and USC.

“My heart breaks as we all watch the horror continue to unfold in Los Angeles and completely upend so many lives. The devastation caused by these fires is unimaginable,” wrote Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin.

Rubin added that 100% of the proceeds will be donated by Fanatics, leagues and sports organizations to the LA Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross “as they continue their heroic actions to help as many people as possible.”
“What’s happening is absolutely heartbreaking and it’s our duty to use our platform in every way we can… and we’re working around the clock to find ways to provide additional relief in Los Angeles. #LAStong.”
A number of sports events were affected in the area. The Kings and Lakers games were both postponed, and Monday night’s NFL playoff game Vikings and rams moved to Arizona.

It was announced Friday that the Rose Bowl Half Marathon and 5K will also be postponed.
