Evan Rachel Wood reacts to the DA by dissing Marilyn Manson

Responding to Friday’s news, Wood, 37, took to her private Instagram account with her own statement.
“My attorney and I advised the deputy district attorneys and sheriff’s deputies who investigated the case that there was compelling evidence to support our claims, but that the statute of limitations prevented many of these crimes from being prosecuted,” Wood wrote in an A, post, per People.
“We always knew that the statute of limitations would be a barrier, and that’s why we created the Phoenix Act so that other victims don’t have to experience that outcome,” she continued, referring to a law that helped in California in 2019 in 2019 Last year, it extended the statute of limitations for domestic violence cases from three to five years, and required the police to undergo more domestic violence training.
“Unfortunately, the Phoenix Act cannot help cases that occurred before it was passed, but I hope it illuminates why it is so important to advocate for better laws,” Wood concluded. “Evidence of violent crimes should not have an expiration date. I am grateful for the work of law enforcement agencies, and I am infinitely proud of all the survivors who risked everything to protect others by telling the truth.”
Wood and Manson, 56, began dating in 2007 and got engaged in January 2010. The engagement was called off Seven months later.
“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horribly abused me over the years,” Wood claimed via Instagram in February 2021. “I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.”
The actress also said in the post that she decided to come forward because she was “done living in fear of retaliation, defamation or blackmail,” adding: “I’m here to expose this dangerous man and call on the many industries that have included him before he destroys more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
