Brighton and Hove Albion will allow £60million-rated Evan Ferguson to leave in the January transfer window, with Leicester emerging as a potential destination.
The Foxes are currently 17th in the Premier League table and just two points above the relegation places.
Given how they and fellow top-flight side Southampton are struggling this season, it points to the gap between the top and second tiers of English football getting wider.
Leicester want to sign Evan Ferguson on loan in January
Ruud van Nistelrooy has already outlined his transfer plans by the club, and second TeamTalk sources, which includes a loan move for Ferguson, 20, who appears to have fallen out of favor with Seagulls manager Fabian Hurzeler.
The Telegraph (subscription required) consider the player’s value to be £60m, although there is no suggestion at this stage that Brighton are willing to cash in via a permanent sale.

With a The playmaker has also predicted a sensational comeback at the King Power Stadium, van Nistelrooy could significantly strengthen his squad for the crucial second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
For Ferguson, a move would represent a chance to show Hurzeler what he’s missing out on by keeping the striker on the bench.
So far this season, the forward has played just 215 minutes in 16 Premier League games under his new manager (transfer market), and it is clear that this is not enough for the player or the club.
Rather than look out for another half-season stuck on the bench or with occasional shallow minutes, Ferguson will want his chance to shine, both for his international and club ambitions.
The likelihood of him being installed as Leicester’s main striker is also high, given that Jamie Vardy, while knowing where the net is, isn’t getting any younger.
If Ferguson can also score the goals that keep the Foxes away from the relegation places, it could be a move that works for all parties.
