Epic Games acquires loci to enter automated 3D marking

Epic games declared on Wednesday the acquisition of LociAI platform for automated 3D assets. The deal will help the creators in the laborious marking process as well as to help detect potential intellectual property disorders (IP).

Loci, which uses Computer Vision models to understand 3D content, automatically mark 3D assets, which makes the content easier to search, share and detect. Due to the large number of assets that creators often have to manage, new integration will probably be very useful as the process can take a long time.

Loci technology will not only cope with manual marking challenges, but will also help identify possible IP violations. Fortnite has encountered problems before, where many players have brought elements of popular IPS, including Mario Kart and Shrek.

AI technology will be integrated into the epic ecosystem, including in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and FAB, the market for sale and purchase of digital assets.
