Eni, Total Energies sign deal to bring Cypriot gas to Europe via Egypt
Eni, General Energy, Egyptian and Cypriot ministers signed a host government agreement (HGA) Cymptus Cymptom for 6 resources.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Egyptian oil and mineral reserves in Cairo, Egypt. Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry of Cyprus George Pavanastasiou; Eni ceo claudio descalzi; and those responsible for the total gland.
The signing was chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi and Cypriot President Nicos Christulls during the opening ceremony of Egypt’s energy event in Egypt.
This Agreement specifies a significant step towards creating a gas node in the Eastern Mediterranean, using the current hydrocarbon infrastructure of Egypt and the main player of gas production and export.
The circle gives a detailed program for the rapid development of CRONOS gas detection from Cyprus’ shores. The gas will be transported and will be processed in the deadlifted killing of the Liquet in the Damit Dametta case to export European markets.
The Damietta LNG plant operates a joint venture between ENI and EGAS of the ENI and EGAS of the Egyptian State Gas Holding.
Eni Ceo Claudio Descalzi said: This project covers an existing Egyptian infrastructure, including export opportunities, which are a major opportunity for developments in the region.
“Egypt and Cyprus reaffirm their roles at the developing energy junction in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, which plays a growing role in the near future in the near future.”
Cronos gas was found in 2022 and was rated in 2024. Block 6, where the discovery has been found, it also has possible resources to study and evaluate Zeus’s detection in 2022.
Eni has been activated in Cyprus since 2013, operating block 6 at a 50% interest rate and the existing block to participate in the 7th and 11th block.
Eni has been presence in Egypt since 1954 and is now the best manufacturer of the country, which has 2024. 280,000 barrels of oil equivalent.
