Elon Musk has called for Nigel Farage to be replaced as head of Reform UK in a surprising U-turn hours after the British politician refused to confirm the tech billionaire’s latest online claims.

“The reform party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes,” Musk wrote on X, his social media site, on Sunday afternoon.

The Tesla boss has previously praised Farage, urging people to “vote Reform” and calling the party Britain’s “only hope”.

On Friday, Musk claimed that Sir Keir Starmer was “complicit with the rape of Britain”, referring to the Prime Minister’s current scrutiny of the UK Public Prosecutor’s Office as evidence of gangland behavior emerged over the past decade.

Earlier on Sunday, Farage refused to confirm Musk’s language. “I don’t agree with everything he stands for,” he told the BBC.

Musk has also repeatedly called for the release of jailed right-wing activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Leno, who is in contempt of court. Earlier this week, Farage ruled out Robinson joining the Reform Party, saying “he’s not the one , what we need.”

Musk and Farage met at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence last month, when the tech billionaire said he was considering a significant donation to the party.

“The fact that Musk supports me and supports reform does not mean that as two adults we have to agree with everything the other says, thinks whether Musk’s comments about British politicians on Sunday are acceptable.” , Faraj said.

After Musk’s X post, Farage responded by quoting it and writing: “Well, that’s a surprise. Elon is a great person, but I’m afraid I don’t agree. My view remains that Tommy Robinson is not right for reform, and I never sell my principles.”
