Elon Musk has questioned whether the United States should “liberate the British people from their tyrannical governments” after hitting out at top UK lawmakers.

In recent days, the tech billionaire and top adviser to US President-elect Donald Trump aired his grievances with the British government on social media, resulting in a war of words between the Tesla boss and a UK government official.

In a series of posts on X, the social media platform owned by Musk, the tech mogul has criticized Britain’s Labor government over its historic child abuse scandals.

Musk accused UK Defense Secretary Jess Phillips of being a “rape genocide apologist” on Friday before publishing a series of posts. is calling The resignation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer and awaiting a prison sentence on how babysitting gangs and other criminals who target children are prosecuted.

Musk’s comments followed Phillips’ rejected calls For a government investigation into child sexual abuse in Oldham.

Before starting a political career, Starmer served as the UK’s Director of Public Prosecutions during the country’s child-rape scandal.

A spokesperson for Phillips was not immediately available for comment when contacted by CNBC.

“In the case of Elon Musk … it’s a really important set of issues. Child sexual abuse is absolutely abhorrent,” Starmer said during a press conference on Monday. “(But) those who spread lies and misinformation as far and wide as possible – they care about themselves, not the victims.”

UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting called Musk’s attack on Phillips a “disgraceful smear” over the weekend.
