Meghan Markle found herself at the center of an internet uproar over a subtle mistake in her latest Instagram video.
The Duchess of Sussex rang in the New Year on the popular media platform with a video where she wrote 2025 on the beach.
However, Meghan sparked rumors of a divorce from Prince Harry, as her title of Duchess on Instagram was written in a way that is meant for divorced royals.

Meghan may have inadvertently sparked divorce issues with her return to Instagram because of the way she spelled her royal title.
Her beach video post has already amassed almost 900,000 subscribers. However, one thing that confused fans is that her Instagram page caption reads “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex“rather than the more usual”Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,” which she continues to use on her Sussex.com website.
It may seem like a minor mistake, but it got tongues wagging. According to Newsweekmembers of the royal family use this title format to indicate a woman’s status as a divorcee, and Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson have used it in the past.

The former actress even ran into trouble at Buckingham Palace during a 2020 inspection after she was mistakenly identified as “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” in a palace statement.
At the time, Royal commentator Alastair Bruce said Sky News“The palace made an announcement about what the duke and duchess will be called. But this inadvertently gives the wrong message because, by convention, the suggested style is the one adopted to express divorce.’
“It will eventually be reviewed and I’m sure an expert called the Garter King of Arms can advise,” Bruce continued. “What was suggested was ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’, but putting a name and a comma before the name is the template for a divorced wife.”

Fans spotted a blunder in Meghan’s Instagram video
Meghan kicked off the New Year with a cheeky video post on Instagram as she made her return to the popular video-sharing app after a 5-year hiatus.
The former Suits actress showed a human side in her video, much to the delight of wide-eyed royal fans who thought she filmed it multiple times to get the “perfect” version.
In the video, she was seen running barefoot to the high tide of a sandy beach to draw near-perfect New Year’s letters “2025” in the sand. However, some eagle-eyed fans were quick to note that she appeared to have written the number more than once.

At the beginning of the clip, Megan tries to find the best place to write the numbers, but followers notice that she walks past another “2025” written in the sand along with footprints. The slap is visible on the left, perhaps hinting that she took it off more than once.
In the video, recorded by her husband, Prince Harry, she was running and giggling.

Meghan Markle teased her 2020 return on IG

Back in 2020, Meghan teased that she would return to Instagram The Cut outafter being forced to close in 2018 ahead of her royal wedding to Harry.
“You want to know the secret? I’ll be back… on Instagram,” she said at the time.
However, she has already used Instagram to promote her American Riviera Orchard brand. Meghan reportedly launched the Montecito brand as a follow-up to her old blog, The Tig, noting that it will focus on home, garden, food and general lifestyle.
This was reported by a source close to Megan Harper’s Bazaar that her brand is “something more accessible … something rooted in her love of detail, curation, hosting, life’s simple pleasures and family.”
The source added: “Meghan is busy working on something safe and permanent. And something that won’t be accused of being based on anything royal.’

The Duchess has released the first trailer for her new Netflix show
Meghan really plans to take over 2025 as she debuted the official trailer for her Netflix series, Love, Meghan.
The show, which is linked to her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, reportedly focuses on “cooking, gardening and entertaining.”
The trailer shows Megan doing a variety of activities, including cooking and gardening. Some celebrities, such as Mindy Kaling and the Duchess’s husband, Prince Harry, also appear in the trailer.

As the new year approaches, the Duchess of Sussex previously revealed on her private blog, The Tig, that she had two specific New Year’s resolutions that were on her “every year” list.
According to People magazineshe noted that she plans to stop cursing and biting her nails every year.
“They make my New Year’s resolution list almost (every) year,” Meghan wrote at the time.
“Lyanka comes to a lull caused by overwork or a feeling of strong insolence after a couple of drinks,” she continued. “And when it comes to nail biting — well, that still happens during a turbulent flight or a busy day. This is not feminine. But then again, so is swearing. Damn it.”
