Director Julio Palacio on his moving film “Macayla’s Voice: A Letter to the World.”
The award-winning director spoke to FRANCE 24 about his short film, which reveals the world of a remarkable young woman and her family’s journey to understand her. Makayla is a teenage girl living with a rare form of autism that makes her essentially non-verbal. But thanks to a simple technique, he started to communicate for the first time.
