Reflecting on her late husband, Holker shared with People a poignant observation about his inner struggle. “Looking back, I realize that his ‘two very different personalities’ were increasingly at odds with each other,” she revealed. “What if he felt safe being this person who could have different kinds of energy? You don’t have to be completely different people and separate them from each other.”

In her journey to healing, Holker joined organizations such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Maple Counseling.

“I was so lucky to have the resources to help me,” she said. “I learned that there are so many other resources that a lot of people don’t know about. I’ve had so many people come to me wanting to talk and if I’ve learned anything it’s that mental health can affect anyone at any time in life.’

Listen, let them be who they are in that moment and don’t make them feel like it’s wrong,” she explained. “People who have a lot of light have still passed through a lot of darkness. And that’s okay, because you can’t have one without the other.”

During the time after his death, Holker slowly opened up to a new love and is now meeting with Chief Technology Officer Adam Edmunds. She addressed this new chapter in her life with vulnerability and honesty, stressing that her love for tWitch will always remain.

“I had such a beautiful love with Steven and I still have such a beautiful love with him.
