Dems remain silent on Trump’s ruling as they prepare for a trifecta for Republicans in Washington

Democratic lawmakers were conspicuously silent after the verdict President-elect Donald Trump despite his earlier comments on cases against him, Washington is preparing for a trifecta for Republicans in Congress.

Trump, who pleaded guilty in May to 34 counts of falsifying business records, was convicted on Friday.

The the incoming president was punished unconditional release, which means he will not receive any jail time, fines or probation. The ruling also preserves Trump’s ability to appeal the ruling.

After Trump’s criminal conviction in May, Democratic members of Congress reacted widely on social media, but remained mum after Friday’s sentencing, just days before his Jan. 20 inauguration.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said in a May post on X, formerly Twitter, that “the jury has spoken and deliberated. Responsible leadership demands that the verdict be respected,” while Alexandria Rep. “No one is above the law,” said Ocasio-Cortez of New York.

However, Democrats reacted less strongly to Friday’s ruling, which acquitted Trump of any punishment.

One Democratic congressman issued a statement following the conditional release, claiming that “our justice system is not fair.”

“The scales are not even,” he said.

Republicans, on the other hand, made a lot of noise after the verdict.

Senator Lindsey Graham, of the RSC, said in a statement: “I have no respect for the process in New York. I find the motives of the judge and the prosecutor to be fraught with politics.” “This is a sad day for America.”

Trump said before the verdict that he will appeal the decision.

Trump appealed urgent application He appealed to the Supreme Court on Wednesday to block the sentence handed down on January 10, but the high court ultimately rejected his urgent request to stay the sentence.
