The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, began the implementation of his office with a list of large-scale “Day One” orders.

US President-elect Donald Trump campaigned on a number of issues, from immigration to oil production, which he promised to tackle on “Day One”.

Host Steve Clemons talks with Tevi Troy, former deputy secretary in the cabinet of Republican former President George W. Bush, and Niall Stanage, White House columnist for The Hill.

Even though both houses of Congress are under Republican control, many of Trump’s initiatives will fail in the courts and legislature, Stanage notes. And Troy argues that Trump’s negotiating tactic is to raise the rhetoric (i.e., threaten tariffs) but then work out practical compromises.
