Crystal Kung Minkoff finally exposes the murky truth behind the infamous 14 Friends fallout!
Crystal When Minkoff finally spills the tea on the infamous 14 Friends drama, dispelling years of speculation and reflecting on the messy fallout that rocked her personal life since joining ROBA.
On the Jan. 13 episode of her podcast Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia, Crystal revealed the shocking details behind her broken friendships, including one former friend’s alleged attempt to sabotage her reputation. “It’s not 14” Crystal41, clarified with reference to the previous comment Add the chest about the loss of 14 friends.
“I’m the one who said the number 14. Lisa brought it up because i told her off camera. (There were) seven (from) one group.” The fallout began when an old friend who was once thought to be ROBAturned against her.
“My ex-girlfriend wanted to do a show…but her husband didn’t support it,” Crystal revealed. “As her friend, I said, ‘I think this is the right decision for your family.’
But when the tension increased Crystal itself was cast. “I told her, and the conversation wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. She asked, “Why is it good enough for you and not for me?” Crystal explained.
Although she joined the show in part to use her platform to fight anti-Asian hate crimes, she admitted she didn’t share that reasoning at the time, feeling it could come off as an excuse. After their last conversation, Crystal never heard from her friend again. “That was four and a half years ago,” she said.
The cases did not end there. A group photo from her mommy and me circle has surfaced – without her. “It broke my heart,” she admitted. “I sent letters and flowers to everyone, asked them to fix everything… No one answered.”
The rejection deepened when Crystal became the target of what she called a smear campaign. “They started telling people that I was making up lies about them. Then they made the cast members destroy my character,” she claimed.
“I didn’t just quit — it was, ‘Now we have to destroy her.’ Despite the negativity, Crystal found support from its closest allies.
“My best friends are amazing because they’ve really supported me,” she shared, adding that others have personally warned her about the toxicity in the group. “You don’t think this will ever happen to you.” Now, looking back, it seems Crystal is ready to move forward.
“I learned a lot about people, and I am grateful to my friends who remained faithful,” she concluded.
