‘Compensate proportionately or…’: Veeba founder Viraj Bahl slams 70-hour workweek as ‘Bats**t crazy idea’
Veeba’s founding Virage Bhale has scored the growing pressure of extreme workgrounds, label the idea of 70-hour work schedules as “bat ** t crazy.” While some of the industry leaders have been recalling longer hours to promote productivity, Bhale categorically opposes trend, drawing a clear line between the founders and their employees.
Speaking to Chitrangada Singh, Bhale found out how to ask about employees working for 70 hours of weeks. “It’s good that the founder will work for 70 hours, because he is the biggest commercial operation from it,” he said. “Expect your team to do the same. Crazy. “
In 2013, Bhale, who did in Veese doubled on her position. “I think the 70-hour work week is a bats ** t crazy idea,” he said. He stressed that if companies claim employees such hours like a clock clock, they must offer proportional compensation. “Or compensate them as you compensate for 70 hours to work, proportionally, or don’t expect them to work for 70 hours.”
His speech contradicts the views of Infosys, Narayana Murti, who called on employees to work 70 hours to promote India’s productivity. Mkhitar’s statement caused heated discussions on working culture, some corporate leaders support his proposal. Bhale, however, sees it as an outdated concept.
“It is expected that someone will work for 70 hours without equal capital upside down, it’s outdated,” he said. Bhael noted that Veeba recently reduced the working hours of his employees. “In our company, we recently decided to reduce working hours. We now operate during a 40-hour working week, “he explained.
The Bahli opposition forces him to a long-term working culture one of several prominent business leaders to challenge the growing trend publicly. While the debate continues, during a 40-hour working week, VEEBA shift reflects Bahli’s stable belief that stable working conditions benefit both companies and their teams.
