Chris Perkins on Dungeons & Dragons exits the wizards on the shore
After 28 years, long -standing Dungeons & Dragons Designer Chris Perkins revealed that he had left the company and retired from Wizards of the Coast.
Perkins said on Friday that he was leaving “a perfect fairy tale … I can’t wait to enjoy D&D clean as a fan again, knowing that the game is in good hands.” His retirement comes as a result of the 50th anniversary of TTRPG and the recent launch of his processed rules, which he believes “make gangs”. He had previously retired as D&D Lead of the product after the start of Underground Guide In October 2024. At that time, a Wizards representative told Polygon This Perkins “didn’t go anywhere” and that he took a new role in the company.

Chris Perkins entered the desktop game industry in 1988 under the name of the Christopher Zarathustra pen, which he wrote to write Dungeon Magazine #11 adventure “Wards of Witching Ways”. He officially joined Wizards in 1997 as an editor of The dungeon, And later the editor-in-chief of periodicals of Wizards. Over the years, he has become a greater figure for Dungeons & Dragons and contributed to his fourth and fifth editions and the famous Curse of fear module. Perkins also helped to promote the actual play genre through D&D Games of popular enthusiasts events such as PAX, then holding the TWITCH show Dice, camera, action and guest with the participation of Critical roleS
After Perkins revealed his retirement, Dungeons & Dragons A team thanked him for “decades of work he poured into the wizards on the shore, as D&D wouldn’t be what he was today, without his numerous despits. While we are incredibly sad to see him, we welcome him every day. While in D&D, Chris was the next generation.
