Chelsea are believed to have triggered the clause to end centre-back Aaron Anselmino’s loan spell with Boca Juniors early.

The Blues agreed a deal to sign 19-year-old Anselmino in the summer for a fee of £15m, with the highly-rated defender returning to Boca on loan until summer of 2025.

However, German Garcia Grova states Chelsea have activated a clause that allows them to break Anselmino’s loan in January and take the teenager to Europe immediately.

Chelsea are reported to want Anselmino to gain experience in European football as soon as possible, although the specific plan for the Argentina youth international remains to be seen.

He could stay with Enzo Maresca’s senior, or on loan sister side of Strasbourg in France it could be carried out if one of the existing loan contracts is cancelled. Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and midfielder Andrey Santos have impressed for the French side, but questions have been asked about injured left-back Caleb Wiley.

January will also see another exciting young signing, the extreme record Estevaotaken to London for a brief taste of life in England. The Palmeiras sensation will then return to Brazil as he will not be able to make the move until he turns 18 in April.

Ecuadorian midfielder Kendry Paez, also 17, will join the Chelsea squad at the end of the season after his own 18th birthday.
