Hotel rooms were quickly sold out as the stars sought shelter from the wildfires

According to a source who was among those evacuated to one of those hotels, rooms were sold out so quickly that the people who stayed there almost didn’t get the high-end accommodation they were looking for.
“I evacuated early and immediately called the Hilton. They had about 2 rooms left. I was lucky I was able to get in,” said Lisa Ann, who owns a $7 million Palisades home.
She added: “They sold out so quickly that as soon as people smelled the smoke they went to hotels.com.”
Since the surge in guests, the hotel has become quite chaotic, with people and animals everywhere.
“There are people everywhere dragging their Gucci luggage and animals, dogs and cats too, I saw a parrot in a cage. It’s crazy,” the longtime Palisades resident further remarked.

New theory about Palisades wildfires claims New Year’s Eve revelers started fire

Although it is now clear that the Pacific Palisade wildfire is the worst to ever hit California, its exact cause remains unclear.
Reports suggest the inferno may have been sparked by New Year’s Eve revelers using fireworks during the festive celebration.
According to the evidence reviewed by The Washington Postfirefighters were dispatched to Pacific Palisades shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day in response to a small brush fire that residents say was started by fireworks.
Although the flames were extinguished at the time, a re-ignition is now believed to have occurred as satellite images of a burn scar from an earlier fire match the origin of the smoke from the Palisades fire.
