The actress continued her role in Mask with blockbusters such as There’s something about Mary, My best friend’s wedding and Charlie’s Angelswhich made her one of the biggest Hollywood stars of the 90s and early 2000s.

In 2014, after starring in the title role, Diaz quietly took a break from acting Annie but now back on the big screen opposite her Annie Castor Jamie Foxx on Netflix Back in action. The actress recently shared how much she loved taking a break from acting.

“Oh my god, I loved it. It’s been the best 10 years of my life,” Diaz said on the Friday, Jan. 17, episode of The Graham Norton Show. “I could just say, ‘I’m a mom, I’m a wife, I’m living my life.'”

Diaz went on to say that her retirement from acting “made sense for (her) family” at the time, as she and husband Benji Maddenwhom she married in 2015, have two children: daughter Reddix, born in 2019, and son Cardinal, born in 2024. Diaz added that after a while, “people stopped asking” her to take on new roles. “It was so wonderful,” she said.
