Cameron Diaz talks about her ‘Back in Action’ co-star Jamie Foxxhaving suffered a stroke while making the film.

The cast did a recent interview to promote the new Netflix movie, and Diaz shared that learning about Fox’s stroke “was terrible” for everyone who loves the “Ray” star.

Diaz and Fox sat down for an interview with Extra it happened on Jan. 16, where the “Back in Action” star shared her feelings about Fox’s stroke.

Fox was in Atlanta to shoot scenes for the movie when he suddenly got a headache and passed out. He later learned he had suffered a brain haemorrhage which led to a stroke and the ‘Blame It’ singer spent 20 days in a coma following emergency surgery. The 57-year-old also had to learn to walk again at a rehabilitation center in Chicago.

Diaz and Fox have been friends for 25 years and have starred in two more movies together, Any Sunday in 1999 and the 2014 remake of Annie.

Diaz said Fox was brave when he shared the details of his stroke in his Netflix special, “Jamie Foxx: What Happened Was…”

“For every person who knows Jamie, it was horrible,” Diaz said. “For everyone who loves Jamie, the world, like, everyone was worried… I can’t even imagine what he’s feeling. I am so proud of him how brave he was to do his show to let us all know. But you know, it’s hard, you approach him and he says: “Everyone is crying!”

Diaz says she was “honored” to work with Foxx

The “Charlie’s Angels” actress has two children together with her husband, musician Benji Madden, and as previously reportedExplosionDiaz called Fox “the only person” who could have lured her into another film.

“I thought if I was going to go back and make a movie, the only person I was going to go back and do it with would be this guy,” Diaz said. “Seriously. I had other opportunities along the way, and I always said, “No. I’m not doing it, I already told you… What? Jamie asked? Jamie? Oh, I can do a movie with Jamie!” “

Fox promised Diaz they’d have fun filming ‘Back in Action’

Fox shared that in order to get Diaz to agree to the film, he was “humble” and promised her that she would have “fun” filming “Back in Action.”

“Look, we were very modest in our request,” Fox recalls. “We were very respectful of our question. There were a couple of promises. I said, “I don’t want your feet to touch the ground. I want it to be fun for you.”

Diaz added that she really had fun making the film, and noted that Fox kept his promises.

“But even with the promise he kept, he took such good care of me,” Diaz said. — I actually knew that if I was going to leave for 10 hours a day, leave my family, that I was going to be forced to, you know, work with, you know, the most talented person in show business. Professional, fantastic partner. I knew it was going to be worth it for me to go no matter what and that we were going to have fun.”

The pair are forced back into the world of espionage after their cover is blown, and the duo must explain their old lives to their children after running into bad guys at a gas station.
