The rapper took to social media to ring in the new year with a close-up mirror selfie of his well-toned body along with some deep motivational rhymes.

Bust Rhimes’ body transformation began after a nasty health scare following a bedroom romp episode, and now it’s paid off in a positive way for the entertainer.

The rapper shared the upbeat moment with his followers on Instagram, showing off his sculpted physique after a quick trip to the bathroom.

Rimes looked beautiful with a low expression and a bright smile for the camera. In his signature, he chose to spell out all the letters, shedding all forms of humility as an ode to his hard work and recovery efforts. The inscription to the artist read:

Explosion shared that the rapper came clean in the interview and detailed the moment he had an epiphany about turning his life around for the better after gaining weight.

Rhimes explained that the scary incident happened in 2020, when he had an asthma attack after having sex. The fear of health caused him an insatiable desire to urgently change his physical and mental health.

“One night I was going to have, do, you know… I was getting ready to have an intimate moment with my ex,” the “Look At Me Now” singer began, adding, “I was having trouble breathing after the intimate interaction.”

He noted that he “tried to inhale and it just didn’t seem to work. I felt like I was having an asthma attack – but I don’t have asthma.”

“So I walked out of the bedroom and into the living room, and I forced myself to take a breath, to relax,” Rhimes explained.

Father-of-five turned his then-partner’s scathing comments into a reason to fight weight gain

Rimes detailed her ex-partner’s reaction to his physical appearance during one of their lovemaking episodes, which left him a little insecure.

He admitted that those comments sparked something in him, greatly influencing his journey to transform his body, soul and mind.

“She said, ‘Hey, that’s not who I fell in love with,'” he noted. “She didn’t know what happened on the street, but she was looking at my body and my weight. She said, ‘You have to lose weight. This breath of me scary.” Rhimes explained that his partner remembers their first meeting, saying:

“When I met you, you was not like a muscle man, but you, you was thin, you was cut outyou were right. I need you come back the one I fell in love with.”

The New York resident blamed his weight gain on the emotional impact of losing his father, which forced him to seek solace in junk food, alcohol and other unhealthy lifestyle habits, causing his weight to skyrocket.

“My father died in 2014, and I drowned in work. I just kept drinking, smoking, eating bad food — and all that stuff — and recording a bunch of songs to escape the pain,” Rhimes noted.

He went on to say, “I also had a 90 percent throat blockage due to polyps on my vocal cords and my breathing was bad.”

The host, who admitted he turned down weight loss surgery for fear of losing his signature baritone, recalled another low point in his life that contributed to his current reality.

Rhimes explained that it happened in 2019, when his son and his bodyguard spent about 45 minutes pulling him out of his car after he passed out. Reportedly, it was after this incident that the doctor told him that he could die in his sleep. The 52-year-old shared:

“I was also afraid of surgery for polyps on my vocal cords because my voice is what I feed my family with – the voice is a dragon. I ran from the surgery as much as I could, but after that weekend I saw doctor, and he looked at my throat and said I could die in my sleep. Then I had the surgery and started getting back in shape.”
