Shields has revealed the shocking story in her new book, Brooke Shields Has No Right to Age, about an unwanted cosmetic procedure she underwent.

The “Endless Love” star revealed that she went to her gynecologist’s appointment and after the examination, she was asked if she had ever experienced any discomfort due to her labia. Shields wrote: “Just skinny jeans and spinning and all the romantic moments,” writes PEOPLE.

The model added, “I apologize if it’s too naturalistic or just plain TMI,” but noted that while she might be “embarrassed,” it was important to bring up “uncomfortable but very real issues. Shame is no longer an option.”

Shields went on to write that since she was in high school, her labia has been a problem that has caused her pain. Her friend had a similar problem and they joked that they had “two little speed bags” between their legs.

“It was painful and bothersome, and when I told my gynecologist about it, she said it was very common and that I was definitely a candidate for a lip reduction procedure.” wrote Shields.

Shields’ gynecologist recommended a male doctor for the reduction procedure, and she decided to have the surgery. After the doctor finished, he told Shields that he had performed vaginal rejuvenation surgery on her without her consent.

“When it was over, the doctor told me how everything went,” she recalled. “I was very detailed,” he said, to my relief and excitement. And then, “I’ve been there for four hours, and you know what I’ve done? I’ve tightened you up a little bit! Rejuvenated you a little bit!'”

“Wait, what?? I was shocked, dumbfounded. I can’t remember how I responded or even if I said anything,” she wrote. “Should I have said thank you?”

The doctor explained that after the children were born, “everything became more free,” but Shields gave birth to the children by cesarean section.

“After two children, things got weaker,” he said. But I had a c-section and a scarred cervix, more narrowed, I answered. from a lady whose legs were glamourously encased in metal stirrups “I dropped it for free, little lady,” she shared.

“I was horrified, but also confused,” she continued, adding that she wasn’t sure if she should file a lawsuit because she didn’t want to talk about her “female roles” and be on the front page of every newspaper.

The former Calvin Klein model said she wasn’t happy with the results, but even if she was, her body was “surgically altered” without her consent.

“This man surgically altered my body without my consent,” she wrote. “And he thought he was doing me a favor by introducing the ‘bonus procedure’?” The sheer bile of it infuriated me.’

As a child actress, Shields was over-sexualized in films like Beauty at the age of 11 and The Blue Lagoon at the age of 14.

“The fact that the most intimate parts of my body were in the public eye for so long … that was enough,” she said. “All I could think was, ‘Why doesn’t everyone leave my wig alone?’ (Even as I write this, I know this is going to be a headline-grabbing moment. Whatever it is. Women deserve all the information.)”

Shields added that she wasn’t happy with the results when she took the lead, and the unwanted procedure didn’t add to her satisfaction.

Shields wrote in the book that she never spoke to the doctor again and was traumatized by the unwanted procedure. She also noted that when she told her husband, Chris Henchy, he was also angry about the unwanted procedure.

“I never took any action against this doctor. I never even talked to him about it, partly because I began to doubt myself,” she wrote.

“Wonder if he’s right that I’m lucky. Or maybe I thought it was a necessary improvement for my man, who was secretly unhappy but would never dare broach the subject of my “whores down there?” It’s crazy to me that these ideas came into my head.”

She continued: “What’s even crazier is that I didn’t even discuss it with my husband until later. I can’t remember why I finally told him, but he was almost as angry as I was. He had no right to do what he did, and if it happened to me now, I would make my own big headline and spread it all over the place. That’s what I think at this age, and I like him a lot more.”
