British TV comedies you should see and where to watch them

Rate this post

As a Born and raised British, I spent my life watching British TV, so I know firsthand how good our comedy can be. And exceeds John Cleise’s clichés Shook his car with a branch of a tree At Fawlty Towers or the provision of the US version of the office version: the British comedy has captured the hearts of generations of television viewers and fulfilled the nation’s homes-my name, my laughter.

Of course, I loved a lot of comedy outside the UK. I have encyclopedic knowledge of friends, I loved scrubs (except for Series 6 that suck) and I still enjoy the frequent rewinding of Gilmore girls, a modern family and a horsehore flight. We will say nothing about recent shows like what we do in the shadows, parks and relaxation and the creek of Shit, all that I love.

But the British television comedy will always be where my heart is really hiding, and if one of my above elections is on your own list of television favorites, then I urge you to try one or all my best photos of the British television comedy.

Channel 4

TED father

The show follows the dysfunctional life of three Irish Catholic priests, and their own -obsessed housekeeper, living in the parish of the remote rock island. From an attempt to protest the blasphemous film, to the amusement of an alleged sheep, destroyed by anxiety, or you have to kick the problem bishop “up the ass”, the plot lines of the show through all its 25 episodes fall somewhere between surreal and ridiculous.

This is a show that does not take and should not take it at all. His charm lies in his fun, in his wealth of expertly thrown and sublimely written characters (both repetitive and casual) and in the knowledge that no matter what Madcap schemes play, Ted will eventually humiliate and Father Doug will not have any idea what is going on.

Good life

On his 40th birthday, Tom Good leaving his job at a plastics company and with the help of his long-suffering wife Barbara trades in the life of the office for a self-sufficiency. They grow their own vegetables and keep pigs, chickens and goat, all from their back garden in the wealthy London suburb of Serbiton.

Through the garden fence are the presenters, Margo and Jerry. In many ways, Tom and Barbara antithesis, Leadbetters live in relative luxury, their friendship is often tested by literal pork style created in the neighborhood.

This is a story of a sustainable home at home that is as appropriate today as it was when the series airs in the 1970s. And despite their age, the greater part of the plots and jokes still withstand the time test. Well, maybe not the huge laughter from the audience of the joke of a telephone engineer to “get so many calls that I have to carry the phone with me”, which feels more like museum footage these days.

But this is a show that offers a magical combination of endless laughter, cozy vibration and a huge help of the heart, as Tom and Barbara deal with everything-from bad backs and fleas infections to sick piglets and rusty cast iron ovens. It was broadcast on the BBC in the 70s of the last century – and a remarkable favorite of the late Queen Elizabeth II – so it is no surprise that you will not find a bad language or really something that can be described as “grandmothers”. I grew up looking at the show as a tiny child (my mother was a fan), so it’s definitely one you can watch with the kids.

Peep-Show

Channel 4

Peep Show

Living in their small apartment in a tower block in South London, it is not always clear why office drones and shy DJ Wannabe Jez are friends. And most of the time it seems that they are not, especially when everything wants Mark is a quiet night in his office love interest, while Jes would soon bring his friends for a night to the magic mushrooms.

Still, this unexpected pairing works perfectly in the series, as the duo is oriented in everything-from unexpected pregnancies and excited maters to do what to do when your boss asked you to “give him a hand”.

Despite the often adult themes, the show is somehow lacking a real nasty and you are always rooting for Mark and Jaz, although they are both really terrible people in their own unique ways. It is constantly ridiculous, infinitely cotable (“Is this normal the powder you do?”) And with nine seasons, there are many of it to bring your teeth.

Taskmaster

Channel 4

Taskmaster

“Oh my God, you were So That’s right! “Is the phrase I heard from several of my friends, after I finally managed to make them watch the Taskmaster season after they claim that it does not” sound like their thing. “Of course I was right.

For the uninitiated, this is a celebrity game show in his heart. Each series sees five comedians competing in various bizarre tasks to perform at Taskmaster House. The shots are then observed again in the studio and is judged by the comedian and the task leader Greg Davis, along with his assistant (and the creator of series), the “little” Alex Horn.

Some series have one or two big names from the United Kingdom comedy (such as Noel Fielding, Bob Mortimer or Sarah Milican), while for others, the appearance of Taskmaster may be the biggest thing in their careers. The show is unique in that the same five competitors appear in all episodes of each series, allowing you to get to know them as the episodes progress. Until the end, even those you never heard of before you feel like old friends.

The tasks range from simple requests such as “Eat the most watermelon” to a wighter things like “cheer this warden” or “Find the shoe that Alex thinks of.” The shine of the show comes from watching cheerful people to deal with Bonkers’ tasks in different striking ways – or sometimes from seeing a brilliant way to undermine the rules. This is also a great show to watch with someone so you can have “How would you do this task?” conversation.

This remains one of my absolute favorite television shows, and while some of my friends initially broadcast it as “just another celebrity panel show,” I am pleased to announce that the same people are already solid fans and just as much willing to talk to me which athlete is their beloved like me. Although it’s easy. This is Bob Mortimer, obviously.

Oh, and please do not confuse it with the experience of adapting the show. He continued for a season and was widely accepted as extremely harmless. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Red-DWARF

Bbc

Red dwarf

Departed by a stopped animation for 3 million years in the future, Dave Lister’s shy place is still aboard the Red Dwarf mining, only now the whole crew is dead and the ship is lost somewhere in a deep space. Its companions are the ship’s computer, Holly, cat (a man who evolves from Lister’s domestic cat), Droid named Cryth and Arnold Rimer, the hologram of the former two -storey vessel of Lister.

Rarely science fiction has disappeared so well with comedy. The show deals with important topics like what to do if you become chicken meat, why a bar back world is a good thing and what happens if you make a love for an alternative version of the universe of yourself.

The show manages to be ridiculously ridiculous on the one hand while mixing with deeper science fiction themes on the other, such as in the Inquisitor episode, in which Droid wipes out those he feels not worthy of a dwarf crew in his views. Or in a legion in which the crew meets a creature made up of their collective consciousness, which effectively keeps them in a prisoner so that it can continue to exist.

Like Taskmaster, attempts at the American version of the show have been made (terrible), but fortunately they have never gone through the pilot scene. Actually, Ditto Peep ShowBut I’m sure Johnny Galeki would prefer to forget about what I am more than happy to do.
