The actor’s legal team released the clip in an attempt to refute Lively’s sexual harassment claims in her lawsuit.
However, according to a new report, Blake Lively is happy that Justin Baldoni released the video because she believes it proves she was sexually harassed and shows how uncomfortable she was during the scene.

On Tuesday, Baldoni released on-set footage of Lively, showing an interaction between the actors, which his legal team says disputes Lively’s Dec. 20 sexual harassment allegations against her co-star and the director.
However, in a lengthy statement, Lively’s lawyers applauded the release of the video, insisting that it proved the allegations made in the actress’ lawsuit.
They told TMZ: “Justin Baldoni and his lawyer may be hoping this latest stunt will preempt the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning. Every frame of the released video material corroborates exactly what Ms Lively described in paragraph 48 of her complaint.’

“The video shows Mr. Baldoni leaning over Ms. Lively several times, trying to kiss her, kissing her on the forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, clicking his thumb on her lips, caressing her, telling her how good she smells, and talking to her is out of character,” the lawyers continued. In a statement, Lively’s lawyers claimed that Baldoni “improvised” the scene and made the actress feel uncomfortable because there was allegedly no prior discussion.
They also noted that while Lively and Baldoni were co-stars, the actor also served as director and her “employer,” meaning there was a power imbalance.
The lawyers said: “Every moment of this was improvised by Mr Baldoni without prior discussion or consent and without the presence of an intimacy coordinator. Mr. Baldoni was not only the partner of Ms. Lively, but also the director, head of the studio. and Ms. Lively’s boss.”
According to the legal team, the actress who moved away from Baldoni in the scene was not an act because she felt “discomfort” after she was allegedly touched without consent.

“The video shows Ms. Lively standing back and repeatedly asking the characters to just talk,” Lively’s attorneys continued. “Any woman who has been touched inappropriately in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort. They recognize her attempts at levity to try to ward off unwanted touching. No woman should have to take protective measures to avoid being touched by an employer without their consent.”

As previously reported by Explosionfootage from the set of “It Ends With Us,” shared by Baldoni’s team and obtained by news outlets, captures a scene where Lively, 37, and Baldoni, 40, film a slow-motion montage of their characters, Lily and Ryle, dancing without dialogue.
In the footage, they can be seen having an unusual conversation and joking about Baldoni’s nose and Lively’s tan.
In Lively’s lawsuit, she alleged that during the “slow dance scene,” Baldoni “leaned forward and slowly moved his lips from her ear down her neck and said, ‘This smells so good.’
However, the video shows Lively seeming to joke about getting her tan on Baldoni, to which he laughs and replies: “It smells good.”

In his $400 million counterclaim, Baldoni accuses Lively of suggesting he get plastic surgery to change his nose.
Up to this point, the raw footage also includes the actors making flippant remarks about Baldoni’s nose, and Lively mentioning plastic surgery in banter.

Following the release of the 10-minute clip, Baldoni’s team announced plans to launch a website aimed at investigating and refuting Lively’s claims of behind-the-scenes wrongdoing on the set of It Ends With Us.
“Justin Baldoni and the team have nothing to hide and this proves it once again,” shared a statement from People magazine reads. “It is important for everyone involved to ‘have the right to defend themselves with the truth’ and this is something we will continue to show on a future website containing the entire correspondence, as well as related videos that debunk her claims.”
The planned website will reportedly feature detailed correspondence and additional videos to counter Lively’s allegations.

Baldoni also filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and her publicist, alleging defamation, extortion and many other claims.
Earlier, the actor got into New York Times with a $250 million defamation lawsuit, claiming the publication helped push Lively’s “unverified and self-serving narrative.”

Shortly after Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit, Lively’s lawyers fired back at the actor and accused him of using “DARVO” tactics against his co-star.
“This latest lawsuit from Justine Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its partners is another chapter in the abuser’s book,” Lively’s lawyers said. Daily Mail.
They continued: “It’s an age-old story: a woman comes forward with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and revenge, and the abuser tries to break the victim’s table. This is what the experts call DARVO. Refuse. To attack. Return the victim. Criminal”.

The lawyers added that Baldoni’s lawsuit was “retaliation” for Lively’s earlier lawsuit and that his legal team is “attempting to shift the narrative to Ms. Lively, falsely claiming that she seized creative control and pushed the cast away from Mr. Baldoni.”
