TMZ reports that the video quickly went viral, and Malone later self-harmed. Nautica Malone reportedly died Saturday, Jan. 11, of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Bikini Beans Coffee shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, January 14, in response to the death of Nautica Malone. The Java chain offered prayers for Malone’s family, but stressed that protecting their employees remains their top priority.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people involved at this difficult time. It was an unfortunate and tragic situation. As a company, the safety of our employees is always a top priority. In this case, a person decided to commit a crime in one of our locations. We take incidents like this very seriously and remain committed to protecting our team and maintaining a safe and respectful environment. Thank you for your continued support.”

Nautica Malone’s death comes days after the Bikini Beans Coffee incident. According to TMZ, Malone arrived at the drive-thru without pants, and an employee noticed his lack of clothing while taking the order. The employee then alerted a supervisor when Malone appeared at the window, stripped to the waist.

The manager allegedly videotaped him in the drive-thru window as he engaged in the sexual act. The video was later shared on social media, prompting accusations of inappropriate behavior by Malone. After the backlash, Malone reportedly drove to Goodyear, Arizona, and took his own life with a firearm, according to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner. TMZ also reported that on the night of Malone’s death, his family showed up at the coffee shop and confronted the staff. The family claimed that Malone’s suicide was the direct result of a car accident.
