Biden leaves China, Russia and Iran ‘weaker’, America ‘stronger’ before Trump
National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan claimed in an interview Sunday that after four years under President Biden, Russia, China and Iran are “weaker” and the United States is “more secure.”
“Our alliances are stronger than where we were four years ago,” Sullivan said on CNN’s State of the Union program, referring to President-elect Trump’s first term. “They are stronger than they have been in decades. NATO was stronger, more focused, and bigger. Our alliances in the Asia-Pacific are at an all-time high. And our adversaries and adversaries are weaker overall. Russia is weaker, Iran is weaker. Weaker, China weaker, and all the while we kept America out of wars.”
“I think the American people are safer and the country is in better shape than it was four years ago, and we’re handing that over to the next team while we keep the engines of American power humming,” Sullivan said. “Our economy, our technology, our defense industrial base, our supply chain. So the U.S. is in a stronger, more secure position, and our competitors and adversaries are weaker and under pressure.”

“If only we were still inside Afghanistan todayAmericans will fight and die, Russia will have more leverage over us, we will be less able to respond to the key strategic challenges we face,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan highlighted how Brett McGuirk, President Biden’s senior adviser on the Middle East, spent a week at the Doge “discussing with mediators the final details of the text that will be presented to both sides.”
“And we’re still committed to using every day we’re in the office to do that,” Sullivan said.
