Bengaluru homeowners to face extra monthly fee from April. Even small houses won’t be spared
From April 1, Bengaluru residents will face additional charges at the top of their property tax payments – a new user fee for the collection and removal of internal waste.
According to Deccan Herald’s report, the policy applies to all internal waste generators of the city.
Payment structure includes six plates based on property size. The buildings of the up to 600 square meters will pay 10 a month, while the 4,000-square-meter properties are charged 400 per month. For example, a three-story building typical of 30×40 SQ Ft can see 150 per month. This is except for existing solid waste management (SWM) Cess, which is already collected as part of the property tax, which is designed to finance public spaces.
The fee is expected to create approximately 750 volumes in annual income. According to BBMP Commissioner Tushar Girinat, the distribution of BSWML has increased to 1,400 crows. “We hope to have at least ₹ 750 cavity from the user’s fee. The rest will be provided to BSWML from the sources of our other income, “the report said.
For comparison, we have previously received 1,085 hollow BBMP funds.
Although the official procedure has not yet been given, the Urban Development Department has confirmed the proposal at the beginning of this year. The BBMP now plans to start collecting property tax collection from 2025-26 from the Financial Year, as well as the BBMP Special Commissioner (Finance), stated during the last city budget.
This sign has been officially recognized the implementation of the user’s fees for home waste management, although BSHML presented his proposal in November 2016.
Not everyone is on the ship. The need for new charging to Bengaluru party in Bengaluru has been postponed.
He added that before the Swachh Surevekshan guidelines allow urban authorities to collect such fees, “it is not necessary.”
