BBC is looking for more important credit in Apple and Google News

The British broadcast corporation filed a complaint with the British antitrust regulator, which complains that aggregators like Apple News and Google News minimize the loan for the stories they present.

Apple Insider reports this BBC asks the United Kingdom Competition and Markets Authority To request Apple and Google to more famous credit sources. And although CMA’s decision to theoretically apply only to publications in the UK, any change made by the aggregators will probably affect other publishers.

“If the audience receives value from our content and services but attributes that value to goalkeepers instead of the BBC, then this undermines the perceived value of the BBC,” the television operator wrote in his complaint.

This perceived value can be especially important for the BBC, as it derives the bigger part of its financing from a license fee paid by British households – so it is important that the work of the television operator is visible and evaluated to maintain support for the fee.
