Barcelona gave Real Madrid the last El Clasico in the Super Cup final | Football News
Barcelona Real Madrid defeated its opponent with a score of 5:2 A wild Spanish Supercopa Clasico final in Saudi Arabia on Sunday to win the first trophy of the Hansi Flick era.
Kylian Mbappe put Madrid ahead but a dominant Barcelona hit back with five before goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was sent off in the second half.
The Madrid club were hoping to avenge their 4-0 defeat at home to Barcelona in October’s LaLiga Clasico but were instead beaten and crushed by their arch-rivals in Jeddah.
After Mbappe’s opener, Lamine Yamal equalized and Robert Lewandowski put Barcelona ahead from the penalty spot, while Raphinha scored a brace and Alejandro Balde was also on target.

Rodrygo Goes pulled one back for Madrid with a free-kick, but they were unable to capitalize on their numerical advantage in a humiliating defeat for the European champions.
“It’s really nice, it’s been a season since we won the cup. It’s always special and even more so in a Clasico against Real Madrid,” Barcelona defender Jules Kounde told Movistar.
“We had a lot of calmness and patience, we knew that if we implemented the plan, we would win.
“I’m very proud of the team and I’m happy… we came together right after the red card and said we’re going to suffer, we’re going to sit at the back, but we had a big advantage and it can’t get away from us.”
“Bad defending” cost Real Madrid the game
“Real Madrid” head coach Carlo Ancelotti said that the weak defense of his team was the main reason for the heavy defeat.
“We defended badly and it cost us the game – they found their goal too easily,” Ancelotti told Movistar.
“Like all our fans, we are disappointed and there is no need to hide it… we have to look forward, there is nothing else we can do.”

Both coaches preferred to keep the same squads they started with in the semi-finals.
Yamal gave Madrid an early warning with a curling effort down the right, which forced Thibaut Courtois into a fine save.
The Belgian keeper also made a strong save to keep out Raphinha’s header after Brazil’s Lucas Vazquez was easily evaded.
Despite Barcelona’s opening strike, it was Real Madrid who took the lead with Mbappe’s brilliant counter-attack goal in the fifth minute.
French forward Vinicius, repeatedly frustrated by an offside flag in the Catalans’ league defeat, broke away on the halfway line after winning the ball back and slotted past Szczesny after entering the area.
Barcelona came back from the goal
It took a stunning individual goal from 17-year-old Yamal to level the scores. The Spanish winger cut in from the right before slotting home a low finish in the same style as former Barca great Lionel Messi at the near post. he is often compared.
Barcelona continued to push after Eduardo Camavinga came on late to beat Gavi carelessly and took the lead from Lewandowski’s penalty.
Raphinha soon added Barcelona’s third with a header from Kounde’s deep cross and they had their fourth goal before half-time.
Yamal and Raphinha combined and the latter slid in Balde, who passed Courtois.

After the break, Barcelona continued in the same vein and Raphinha scored the fifth net with a neat dribble after playing with Marc Casado.
The Catalans were reduced to 10 men when Mbappe raced in at the other end, brought it down outside the area and rounded goalkeeper Szczesny after a VAR review.
Rodrigo, who had hit the post earlier, curled a free-kick past Szczesny’s substitute Inaki Pena.
Bellingham and Mbappe leave the questions of “Real” to Madrid
Mbappe brought down Jude Bellingham brilliantly but the England international was denied by an excellent Kounde challenge in stoppage time.
The French forward also came close to scoring again with a fine individual display, but Pena parried his effort away.
“He was the best (Madrid player),” Ancelotti said, noting Mbappe’s improvement after a hit-and-miss start at the club following his switch from Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona fielded midfielder Dani Olmo for the first time since signing up to play for the club on a temporary basis, a controversial issue that overshadowed the semi-final earlier in the week.
However, their five-star display offered plenty of other talking points as Barca won a record 15th Spanish Super Cup.
