Argentine President Javier Miley will attend Trump’s inauguration ceremony
Argentina’s President Javier Miley is likely to attend the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump in January. Although her presence has not been publicly confirmed, the official said that all signs point to Miley heading to Washington for the inauguration.
A spokesman for Trump’s transition team did not respond to a request for comment.
Miley, a Trump aide who was elected last year and describes himself as an “anarcho-capitalist,” wrote in X a on Monday. link to news report and wrote, “Make Argentina Great Again Make America Great Again,” adding a handshake emoji between the US and Argentina flag emojis.

Milei is the first world leader expected to be in Washington for the Jan. 20 event, although arrangements are being made for others to join. Chinese President Xi Jinping, whom CBS News personally invited to Trump’s inauguration last week unlikely to participateaccording to many sources.
Trump confirmed on Monday that he had exchanged letters with Xi and that “I would love to have him (at the inauguration), but there hasn’t been much discussion as to whether he will accept the invitation.”
Trump added that after winning the election, he called more than 100 world leaders, and in response to a specific question, he said that he did not invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
State Department records dating back to 1874 show that no world leader attended the American handover ceremony. Traditionally, foreign ambassadors and their spouses represent their governments at the event, held every four years.
Miley met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago shortly after the November election.
