Apple’s Tim Cook latest tech leader expected to meet with Trump ahead of his second term: report

Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to be the latest tech leader to meet with President-elect Trump a month before his second term in office.
On Friday, Cook will have dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, reports The New York Times, citing sources.
CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai have already met with Trump, while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is expected to meet with him next week as the tech moguls seek to strengthen ties with the incoming administration.
Cook, who had a friendlier relationship with Trump than other tech leaders such as Bezos during his first term, was quick to praise Trump after his election victory last month.

“Congratulations to President Trump on your victory,” Cook wrote to X on November 6, the day after the election. “We look forward to working with you and your administration to help ensure that the United States continues to be driven by ingenuity, innovation and creativity.”
OPENAI CEO Sam Altman will donate $1 million to the Trump Inauguration Fund.

FOX Business has reached out to Apple and Trump’s transition team for comment on the meeting.
Last month, Trump said on the “PBD Podcast” that he would not allow European regulators to “take advantage of our companies” after he said Cook had called him to say Apple had been fined $2 billion because its App Store doesn’t allow for competition.
“It’s not going to happen,” Trump said he told Cook.

Cook and Trump spoke on the phone occasionally during his first term.
Amazon of Bezos OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is expected to donate $1 million to the Trump Inauguration Fund. Meta has already given $1 million to the fund.
The closest tech industry leader to Trump is the owner of SpaceX, Tesla and X Elon Muskwho endorsed Trump after his July assassination attempt and has been by his side frequently since then.

Trump also appointed Musk as co-head of the newly created Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE).
