First, let’s update your app iOS 18.2 or later:

- hit General
- choose Software update
- hit Update Now
- Enter it your password and agree to the terms

Using Categories in Mail on iPhone
In iOS 18.2 and later, Mail program improves email management by automatically sorting messages into different categories. This feature is designed to quickly find and manage your emails.
Overview of categories
- Main: Contains private messages and time-sensitive information.
- Transactions: Tracks confirmations, receipts and shipping notifications.
- Updates: Includes news, newsletters and social media updates.
- Promotions: Displays coupon and sale emails.
Note: If a message in the Transactions, Updates or Promotions categories contains time-sensitive information, it will also appear in the Main category.

Using the new Mail sorting feature
Now that you’re on iOS 18.2 or later, let’s explore how to use the new Mail Categorization feature:
- open Mail program on the iPhone.
- At the top, you’ll see four new categories: Primary, Operations, Updates and Promotions.
- hit any category to view emails sorted specifically for that section.
- If you want to see all your emails together, swipe from right to left at the top “All Mail” choice.
- It will be the default after updating to iOS 18.2 or later “Categories” appearance. hit three horizontal dots You’ll see it set in the top right corner of your inbox Categories.
- If you prefer not to use categories, click three horizontal dots select again and again List View.

Ensuring that important emails go to Primary
To make sure of important emails CyberGuy newsletterLand in the “primary” category:
- Scroll through your inbox and find and tap any Email from CyberGuy Newsletter.
- If you don’t have something, check it out “garbage” or “Promotions” folders.
- hit left arrow.
- Click where it says “Category the sender.”
- hit Primary.
- Then click Continue.

This simple act helps communicate its importance. After you manually move an email to the Primary category, Apple’s Mail app will learn about this action.
