Apple is leaving the UK’s safest cloud protection service after the British government ordered the iPhone Maker to provide secret access to customer data.

“Apple can no longer offer new data protection (ADP) in the United Kingdom and current UK users must turn off this security feature,” said Big Tech.

Last month, Apple received the “Technical Opportunity Notification” in accordance with the British Investigation Powers, people familiar with the case said.

The so-called “back” requirement would allow law enforcement and security services to make iPhone copies and other cloud data that are otherwise unavailable, even independent Apple.

The law called the “Charter of Snowball” by his critics, has emergency powers, which means that the British law enforcement may enter Apple’s customer data at any place in the world, including the United States.

This is a developing story
