Shogun excellent Anna Savoy is preparing for it first Golden Globe Awards.but she’s not worried about the ceremony or being able to go on stage and walk away with the cup.

“I think if I think about it too much, I get really nervous,” Sawai, 32, said. Us Weekly in 2025 WWD Style Awards on Friday, January 3, stunning in a custom Louis Vuitton gown. “So I don’t think about it at all.”

She added: “I’m just going to enjoy it, I don’t want to cry anymore. I’ll just think about it when I’m there.’

Sawai stands out for Best Actress in a Television Series, Drama. She resists Kathy Bates (Matlock), Emma D’Arcy (House of the Dragon), Maya Erskine (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), Keira Knightley (Black pigeons) and Keri Russell (Diplomat).

Shogun is also up for three other Golden Globes, including Best Television Series, Drama and Individual Acting credits for the cast of Savoy Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano. Before Sawai steps out at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 5, she explained us like her recent Emmy win reports on reward preparation and thinking.

“I feel like winning the Emmys has allowed me to not worry about it anymore, in the sense that it doesn’t matter,” Savoy said Friday. “I got an Emmy and it’s amazing and this time it’s just a celebration for everybody. I don’t want to focus on who wins and who doesn’t. I think it made me learn a little bit.”

Sawai took home the trophy Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Drama Series at the Emmys in September 2024, becoming the first performer of Asian descent to receive the honor.

“I cried before my name was called. I’m a mess today,” she said in a speech at the time. “Thanks to my team and my family. Mom, I love you. You are the reason I am here. You showed me stoicism and this is how I was able to portray it. It’s to all the women who don’t expect anything and continue to be an example for everyone.”

Sawai has since honored her loved ones following her win.

“I bought my sister and my mom a Cartier ring,” she said us “But not for myself. I always try to give more than I treat myself.”

Sava’s Emmy win and Golden Globe nod were in her honor Shogun the role of Marik, who died at the end of season 1.

“I personally feel like her story has come to a close and it’s perfect,” she quipped on Friday. “So I’m not asking to come back.”

At the same time, if Shogun the creative team was interested in Maryko’s return, then Savai “would definitely do it.”

Meanwhile, Savai is looking at the big screen.

“I want to act in a movie. I feel like I haven’t done a movie in a while and I kind of want to do something that feels independent,” she said. “I just read scripts, something maybe like a bittersweet love story. I would like that.”
