American Airlines reports ‘technical issue’ affecting all flights

American Airlines lifted the nationwide ban on Tuesday after earlier reporting a widespread “technical issue” affecting all flights as many Americans began to take off. trip for busy holidays.
The airline said in a statement that the stoppage lasted about an hour and all flights had resumed.
“A vendor technology issue briefly affected flights this morning,” the statement said. as our team works hard to get customers where they need to go as quickly as possible.”
Air traffic control system command center advisory shows that the airline issued a nationwide stop on Christmas Eve.

“We are currently experiencing a technical issue with all American Airlines flights,” the airline wrote earlier statement X. “Your safety is our top priority. Once this is fixed, we’ll get you safely to your destination.”
“Our team is currently working on this,” the airline added in a second post, as the issue is still ongoing.

The airline did not immediately provide additional information about the problem.
The Federal Aviation Administration similarly offered little information. “American Airlines is reporting a technical issue and has requested a nationwide ground stop. Please contact American Airlines for more information,” the agency said in a statement.

As of 07:10, c. American Airlines there were 1,979 outages, according to the DownDetector website, which provides an overview of problems and outages for a variety of services.
Dozens of social media users reported being stuck on planes or turned away at the airport gate.The American Airlines X account responded to many of the users, apologizing and assuring them that their team was working to fix the outage.

Texas resident Morgan McMahon told Fox News Digital that he was sitting on a plane at New York’s LaGuardia Airport when the captain made the announcement.
“I was sitting on the plane. The captain first announced that the weight was off. He said maybe 5-10 minutes later he announced that the whole AA system was down,” McMahon said.
McMahon, who was trying to return home to Texas, said he would continue to fly American Airlines despite the disruption to his trip.

“They can put some kind of credit on my account (to cover the inconvenience),” McMahon told Fox News Digital. “That wound be fine, $100 and I’ll be fine.”
