Airstrikes have been launched on the cities of Yemen

Yemen’s capital Sana’a and the port city of Hodeidah on the Red Sea coast were reportedly hit by airstrikes.

The extent of the strikes or any casualties is unclear from initial reports.

In recent days, Israel has warned that the group is preparing a significant attack on Houthi rebel targets after launching missile strikes in Yemen.

The Houthis have been attacking Israel with drones and rockets since the first months of the Gaza war, which began in October 2023. The war was triggered by an unprecedented attack on Israel by Hamas militants from Gaza, praised by the Houthis.

Israel has since launched intermittent strikes against the Houthis in retaliation.
