A Washington Post columnist focuses on Biden’s legacy
The Washington Post columnist Matt Bai on Monday criticized President Biden for clinging to power too long, saying the president’s legacy will be “not knowing when to leave.”
“After a lifetime of noble service, he will be remembered, like many of his generation, as a man who never knew when to leave.” Bai wrote.

Bai described what might be Biden’s thought process in the final year of his presidency, saying he doesn’t want to cede power.

The columnist also shared that despite his abysmal ratings, he thinks Biden is the best choice to defeat Trump. After Harris lost, the president reportedly felt he regrets leavingand still believed he would defeat Trump.
“Even now, in the waning hours of Biden’s term, one can’t help but look at him and think: here’s a guy who should be running for president again. Twenty years from now, it will rank among the most blatant acts of denial ever engaged in by any current party,” he said.
