A valid reason if Rockel Welch did not shoot on the island of Hylov

In a recent ranking of seven main characters on the “Hylile Island”, /The film occupied by Mary Anne only in No. 5. This does not mean that she was a minor character. Indeed, all seven heroes on the “Island of Hylyigan” were invaluable members of the ensemble, and removal of any of them was not irreparably damaged the established comedy dynamics. Mary Anne took low just because she has so few stories. However, its function was key. Mary Anne was something innocent, and her happiness was a sign that everything was well on the island. You knew everything was bad when Mary Anne was upset.

In addition, Actress Dawn Wells perfectly implemented the character. Indeed, the heroes on the “Island of Hyloiligan” have become comedic archetypes over the centuries, so deeply rooted in the American subconscious that they are virtually juncies. It would be difficult to imagine the “Hylyloan Island” without the presence of Bob Denver, Alan Hayla, Jello, Tina Louise, Natalie Shafer, Jim Bakus or Wales.

But it seems that the big movie star was considered by Mary Anne before Wells acted with this role. In Interview 2003 at RetroCRUSHShervud Schwartz, the creator of the Hyloan Island, showed that Welch’s racket was considering a role. /The movie previously wrote about the nearest affection of Welch Recently. In an interview with Retrocrush, however, Schwartz showed that Wellch’s main reason was disabled and why Wells was elected. There were concern that Welch was “too sexy” from the outside, though Schwartz seemed to choose Wales for more reasons.

It should be remembered that Mary Anne was before washing on a deserted island, an employee. She had to become an avatar for the working class on the island. Contrary to, Howels was a bourgeoisie in America, the skipper was her infrastructure, ginger -savior, professor of intelligentsia, and hypoevance with her innocence. Since at least three of these characters were glamor, glory and wealth, Mary Anne had to decide not glamorous. Rockel Welch seems to be too dazzling to play a brought character like Mary Anne. Or, as Schwartz said:

“Well, I chose Dawn Wells, was the one who got a rock. She’s a wonderful lady. Rackele was a wonderful actress, but she was too difficult for role.”

Welch, when the “Hylile Island” was discarded, was still rising to glory. She had a regular concert at the Pop show “Hollywood Palace” and appeared in TV shows such as “Navy Machail”, “Enchanted” and “Virginsky”. She was also in the drama of Shelli Winter: “House is a house.” It would not be until 1966 that her stellar turn in the sci-fi “Fantastic journey” will make her home name. In the same year, Welch starred in “one million years BC”, and next year it appeared in “Badazzled”, securing its sexual symbol status. The presence of an actress such as Welch, Mary Anne plays, especially opposite Tina Louise, like a jinger, would have rejected the character’s balance. Two movie stars are too much for the “Hydigan Island”.

Shervud Schwartz certainly felt that Welch was too difficult to play such a friendly worker as Mary Anne. He made the right decision. Wells was the best choice. Wells died in 2020, victim of Covid-19. Welch died in 2023.
