A new forest fire broke out near Los Angeles, which led to mass evacuation
A new wildfire that broke out north of Los Angeles on Wednesday quickly spread to more than 8,000 acres (3,200 hectares), fueled by strong winds and dry brush, and prompted the mandatory evacuation of more than 19,000 people. The Hughes fire further taxed firefighters in the area, about 50 miles (80 km) north of Los Angeles.
