A man arrested for a suspected murder in a collision of a ship in Britain
A man has been arrested by the United Kingdom police for suspected murder after the likely death of one man after the collision of two ships in North SeaAccording to Sky News. A container ship hit a stationary tanker that wore a jet fuel for the US military on Monday along the eastern coast of England.
Humberside police in the UK have released a statement of Sky News Explaining that they have arrested a 59-year-old man, “on suspicion of gross negligence in connection with the clash.” The man is in custody but has not yet been officially charged, according to Sky News.
The American fuel tanker Stina is reported to be anchored off the coast of England when the Portuguese cargo ship Solong (pictured above) came across it around 9:45 am local time on Monday. The clash began fires and multiple explosions. Thirty -six people were rescued, but one man was disappeared and is supposed to be dead on Solong, who will just be allowed to sink.
Solong has been reported to leave the port in Scotland on Sunday and headed for Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The naughty wall wore 220,000 barrels of jet fuel, according to The Independent. Early reports indicate that Solong may have carried a cyanide of sodium, dangerous chemical, but the owners of the ship refused it, according to Sky News. Obviously, the confusion stems from the fact that four of the containers were previously used to carry chemicals, but are actually empty.
British politicians have expressed fears that the incident may have included “foreign intervention”, although the cause has not yet been determined. The United Kingdom Minister Mike Kane said it was wise to ask the question, but they just don’t know.
“We currently think there is no abuse of this incident. However, the maritime accident investigation branch will investigate, “Kane said, according to IndependentS
It would certainly be more understandable if the two ships move both, but the fact that the flawless fuel tanker was anchored during the collision, raised many eyebrows.
The Chief Chief of the Humberside Detective Police, Craig Nicholson, said they would work with the maritime accident investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the missing crew member and I have appointed family relationship staff to make contact and provide family support,” Nicholson said in a statement to Sky News. “The man arrested remains in custody at that time while investigations are underway, and we continue to talk to all those involved in order to identify the full circumstances of the incident.”
