Nintendo launches another strange phone app
Nintendo had an interesting surprise at the end of today’s director. The Shigeru Miyamoto Game Icon revealed the Nintendo phone app today.
This is a digital daily calendar that will have information about the future Nintendo events. Following the direct focus of Nintendo Direct on Switch 2, Miyamoto notes that the app will offer information about the new console daily.
Nintendo likes to have full control over its products, IP and messages. This is the company that has made its own music application instead of simply putting its soundtracks on an existing service like Spotify. With Nintendo today, the company can reach consumers directly instead of relying on other (including journalists like me) to distribute its messages.
Of course, this is if the application receives grip. Nintendo has released an application of phones that wants players to use to switch a voice chat, and people have largely rejected it. And Nintendo already has channels for social media and these direct presentations such as roads for it directly reach users.
Nintendo is available today on the Apple App Store and Google Play. I will have to check it myself to see if there is any value (or hopefully, fun) to find there.
