Audrey Hepburn not only starred in countless romantic films, but also had several high-profile relationships.

Before her breakthrough in 1953 Roman holidaysHepburn was engaged to an industrialist James Hanson whom she met while living in London. However, as Hepburn’s career grew, her relationship with Hanson became strained.

Hepburn after all canceled their weddings and famously declared, “When I get married, I want to be really married.”

After an affair with Hanson, Hepburn moved on with her first husband Mel Ferrer. The couple tied the knot in 1954, and six years later they had a son Sean Hepburn Ferrer. After 14 years of marriage, Hepburn and Ferrer separated.

Hepburn did not remarry until she met Andrea Doty. They tied the knot in 1969, and the following year they welcomed a son, Luka. Doty and Hepburn separated in 1982 after 12 years of marriage.

Before her death in January 1993, Hepburn had one last chance at love with her partner Robert Walders. The couple remained together for the rest of their lives after the actress lost her battle with cancer.
