Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany has revealed the baby name they rejected

Before there was Golden, there was almost Elsa Mahomes.

Before giving birth, she and her husband Patrick Mahomes‘ second daughter on Sunday, January 12, Brittany Mahomestold today“My daughter wants me to call her Elsa. She was set on it for a while, but obviously we don’t!”

Brittany also shared son Bronze’s reaction to becoming a big brother, adding: ‘All he says is ‘I want a little sister’ and then he’ll ask me to show my belly. Although I’m not sure if it registered that a real person was coming. And Sterling is totally obsessed. She likes to play with the little ones.”

Thinking about her exhausting pregnancyBrittany praised Patrick, 29, for being “the most supportive husband in the world”.

“When I complain or I’m in a bad mood, he understands. He will not argue with me,” she said. “He won’t push my buttons. He knows.”

Patrick and Brittany began to meet in adolescence in high school, and the two remained together throughout Patrick’s rise to NFL stardom after he was drafted by the Chiefs in 2017. Patrick and Brittany got engaged in 2020 after eight years together. They exchanged vows in March 2022.

Before greeting Golden, Patrick and Brittany discussed the origin name of daughter Sterling and son Bronze.

“My brother Jackson (Mahomes), whenever we were trying to find something a little bit unique and different, he would say, ‘What about bronze? It’s a perfect fit for sterling,” Patrick said during a press conference in November 2022. “So we went for it. It turns out well. Now he can have something of his own where he’s not Patrick, he’s Bronze, even though he’s Patrick. And that link between Sterling and Bronze can move forward.”

As for Sterling, Brittany discussed special connection by sharing an Instagram story in April 2023. “I got (our dog) Steele in college and named him that. Then we got our second dog and were going to name her Sterling because she was a perfect match for Steele.”

Brittany continued, “Then I said no, I want it to be my daughter’s name, so we came up with Silver to go with Steele.”
