Japan’s Makino Milling requests changes to unsolicited bid from Nidec By Reuters
TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese machine maker Makino Milling Machine said on Wednesday it had asked Nidec to make changes to an unsolicited takeover bid announced last month.
Makino said in a statement that it had asked Nidec to postpone the start date of the tender offer from April 4 to May 9, and to revise the minimum purchase threshold from half to two-thirds.
Nidec, the world’s leading manufacturer of precision motors, announced on December 27 that it plans to clear regulatory processes by early April and submit a tender offer on April 4.
