Miley Cyrus survives the wildfires in Los Angeles after the disaster in 2018

The the Pacific Palisade wildfires continue can be especially difficult for people like Mile Cyruswho have previously lost property in similar natural disasters.

This is a photo of my front porch in 2018 after losing our home in the Woolsey fires,” Cyrus, 32, wrote on social media. message on Saturday, January 11, by sharing a photo of the debris. “It’s a feeling you can’t forget. Walking up to the door you walk through everyday, looking forward to being greeted by those you love as always, only to be greeted by a pile of ashes and rubble instead.’

Cyrus continued: “My heart aches for those who are experiencing this devastation (sic) first hand and I cry for my city. It is beyond heartwarming. Los Angeles epitomizes ‘living the dream,’ but today’s reality is wreckage and destruction.”

Grammy winner too shared the link The Malibu Foundation, a nonprofit that helps victims recover from the wildfires, and several other GoFundMe campaigns for specific victims.

A series of wildfires broke out in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, quickly destroying thousands of acres of property in surrounding areas. Many celebrities and other residents lost their homes to the fire. Others, meanwhileleft the city limits compliance with mandatory or voluntary evacuation orders.

It’s not yet known if Cyrus’ current residence was affected by the ongoing natural disaster, but one of her previous homes burned to the ground in a fire in 2018. At the time, Cyrus was married to an actor Liam Hemsworth. (Cyrus, 34, and Hemsworth separated in 2019 and finalized their divorce the following year.)

“It was an emotional few days. This is what is left of my house. Love”, Hemsworth wrote via Instagram in November 2018, sharing a picture of her driveway with the caption “Love.” “Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have also lost their homes, and my heart goes out to everyone affected by these fires.”

At the time, he continued, “Malibu is a strong community, and this event will only make it stronger. Thanks to all the great local guys (who) have been helping keep small fires around my property at bay. I love you guys. I love you, Malibu. Thank you to all the hero firefighters across California.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth have since moved on Max Marando and Gabriela Brooksrespectively.
