Premier League appointed Everton Moyes as head coach for the second time Football News
Everton have appointed David Moyes for the second time as the US owners carry out a two-day managerial overhaul of the Premier League club.
David Moyes has returned for a second spell as Everton manager following the sacking of Premier League struggler Sean Dyche.
Moyes, 61, made his name during an 11-year spell in charge at Goodison Park from 2002 to 2013, during which he finished fourth in the Premier League in 2005 and appeared in the 2009 FA Cup final.
Dyche was fired on Thursday the club’s new US-based ownersEverton are 16th in the Premier League table and just one point above the relegation zone, hours after their FA Cup victory over Peterborough, the Friedkin Group said.
Moyes has reportedly penned a two-and-a-half-year deal that will see him take the club to a new 53,000-capacity stadium next season.
“It’s great to be back! “I spent 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and I did not hesitate when I was offered to rejoin this great club,” Moyes said in a club statement on Saturday.
“We now need Goodison and all Evertonians to play their part in getting behind the players in this important season so we can move into our fantastic new stadium as a Premier League team.”

Moyes’ early success at Everton gave him the chance to succeed Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, but he was sacked after less than a season during a difficult spell at Old Trafford.
This was followed by brief stints at Real Sociedad and Sunderland, but the Scot rebuilt his reputation during two spells at West Ham.
After rescuing the east London club from relegation trouble in 2017-18, he returned in 2019 for a five-year spell that took the Hammers to Europe three times and ended a 43-year wait to lift Europe. Conference League in 2023.
“We are delighted to have David join us at this important time in Everton’s history,” Everton chief executive Marc Watts said.
“With over a decade of experience at the club, he is the right leader to lead us through our final season at Goodison Park and into our new stadium. We look forward to working with David to build the foundations of a new era for Everton.”

Moyes has been unemployed since leaving West Ham at the end of last season.
His second game starts on Wednesday at home to Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Dyche’s two-year reign came to an end after a five-game winless streak in which Everton managed just one goal.
Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter was reportedly among Everton’s top targets but he joined West Ham this week, with Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho previously working with the Friedkin Group in Rome also reported to have walked away.
Former Everton defender Leighton Baines, now the club’s Under-18s boss, and captain Seamus Coleman were responsible for the victory over third-tier Peterborough.
