On Thursday, January 9, Judge Richard Bloom upheld Megan Thee Stallion’s restraining order against Torey Lanez. The Houston rapper’s request for an injunction described Lanez as a “violent and dangerous individual” with a pattern of behavior that underscores the need for a harassment injunction to protect her safety and well-being, according to Diversity.

Reporter Megan Cunniff shared live details of the order and Megan’s words during a video call from a Los Angeles courtroom X (formerly Twitter). Cunniff explained that the Houston rapper appeared emotional during the call and expressed fear about what might happen if Lanez is released.

“The Court does find that the facts in this case demonstrate unlawful violence, threats of violence … and intentional conduct that seriously harasses the applicant and does not serve a legitimate purpose. I’m signing the order now,’ says Judge Bloom,” Cunniff shared via X .

Cunniff also revealed that Tory will not be eligible for parole until September 2029 as he is serving a 10-year sentence. The restraining order will be in effect until January 9, 2030.

Lawyer Tory Lanez opposes Meghan’s protective order when she stresses its need

Before the judge granted Meghan a restraining order, Tori Lanez’s attorney, Michael Hayden, argued against it. Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon also shared on X that Hayden contested the ban. Hayden pointed out that it wouldn’t be fair, and Lanez has no intention of reaching out to Megan.

However, Nancy Dillon also reported that Megan told the court that she rarely leaves the house because she is constantly nervous and frustrated by people yelling “Free Tori” at her.

Additionally, Dillon said that during a Jan. 9 video call, Megan repeatedly emphasized that the protective order was necessary because she was not feeling at ease after the shooting incident.
