OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says sexual abuse allegations in sister’s lawsuit ‘untrue’

Open AI CEO Sam Altman on Tuesday responded to a lawsuit filed by his sister sexual violence him for about a decade.
Altman issued a joint statement with his mother and two brothers, denying the claims of his sister, Ann Altman.
“All of these claims are completely untrue,” the 39-year-old tech executive said in a statement posted on X.
Ann Altman refused conventional treatment, the family said mental health challenges and “hurts” family members who try to help, making it “incredibly difficult” to care for him.

“Our family loves Annie and is very concerned about her well-being,” the family said in a statement. Despite this, Annie continues to demand more money from us.”
Ann Altman, now 30, filed a complaint Monday in federal court in St. Louis, saying the alleged abuse began at the family home. Clayton, Missouri, when he was three years old and his brother was 12 years old. The lawsuit said the alleged abuse happened “several times a week.”

He alleged that the abuse involved “numerous acts” of rape, sexual assault, molestation, sodomy and cruelty, and continued until he was 11 or 12 years old.

Ann Altman, now 30, claims her injuries include post-traumatic stress disorder, severe emotional distress and depression.She is seeking at least $75,000 in damages.
Fox Business Digital reached out to attorneys representing Ann Altman, but did not immediately hear back.

OpenAI was founded by Altman and other tech entrepreneurs in 2015. CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk. Musk left the company in 2018, dissatisfied with the company’s leadership and achievements.

In March 2024, Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging that it violated its founding mission as a non-profit company by creating a for-profit entity in a new blog post and legal filing described Musk’s previous agreement with the for-profit entity.
